I made some interesting discoveries as I experimented with my bowls. One was that straight strips of wood, properly placed, turned into swags when cut. The effect was nothing short of magical.
You can achieve most anything you want if you really put your mind to it. Everything will not always work out exactly as you want it to, but that should never stop you from trying.
At the community woodshop where I used to do my work, as well as in some woodworking magazines, scroll saws are not considered "real tools". As I began to explore the potential of the saw, I realized that I could achieve many of the effects obtained with those "real" tools, and with much greater safety.
How that is very cool looking. I would sure like to see how that was done at the start.
