I've done your bowl pattern from the Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts and was hooked, although I found it a bugger to sand! Now after watching your video tutorials, I understand better where I need to improve my technique, and why it is so necessary to match wood thickness to ring width to cutting angle! And I hate math!! I have your book ordered and am looking forward to a new challenge! Thank you for all the tips!
You can achieve most anything you want if you really put your mind to it. Everything will not always work out exactly as you want it to, but that should never stop you from trying.
At the community woodshop where I used to do my work, as well as in some woodworking magazines, scroll saws are not considered "real tools". As I began to explore the potential of the saw, I realized that I could achieve many of the effects obtained with those "real" tools, and with much greater safety.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Bonnie. And don't fret the math part. If you ever get confused, just email me and I'll help you figure it out.
