Drilling the perfect entry hole

If you've ever had problems with your bowl blank "jumping" at the start of your cut on an inner ring, here are some tips that should help.

  1. Hello Carole
My name is Doug Drysdale and I live in Riverport Nova Scotia Canada. I am hoping to make one of your bowls found in the holiday 2009 edition of SCROLLSAW. I was quite concerned about doing angles so when I saw this video, it really helped me out. I have been making Christmas ornaments for a number of years but this will be my first attempt at bowls. They are beautiful. I will start my first one the end of March. Thanks for the tips.

  2. Carole,

I sat down at the computer tonight to ask you about the very question you answered in this video. I've just started making bowls from you book and find the starter hole to be my greatest source of irritation and extra work. Can't wait to get out into the shop tomorrow to try it again with your hints in mind.

    Thank you so much!
