Bowls that fly
Just a cautionary note. Yesterday, as I was sanding a new project at the drill press, an edge of the bowl caught on a light that's attached to the press and went flying. Fortunately, the edges were still thick enough not to be damaged, and I was not hit by the flying object, but it was a reminder that even relatively safe tools like the drill press can turn lethal. So, hold on tightly to your project, pay attention at all times, and use protective eyewear.

I just got your book last night in the mail! What a wonderful surprise. i was led to believe it would come out at the end of the month. I have brought it to work today and can hopefully look at it and start ..well, after I get my other projects done. darn birthdays!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol for your bowl book. I thought I had to wait until Jan next year for it, but it arrived yesterday. It is going to be well used in my house, I love it. You did a great job of it too.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to buy an inflatable ball sander, but no one has heard of them here in Aussie. Is this tool just American? Is there a similar tool or a tool that does the same sort of job?
Thanks
Cheers
Maz
Glad to hear you weren't hurt!
ReplyDeleteMaz, King Arthur Tools (see link under my sources) was started by an Aussie who now lives in Florida. Why don't you check out their website and find out if they have a distributor near you? They're really nice people, and I hope they can help you out.
